I almost wasn't going to post anything today. Honestly, I'm not in the mood. I feel like crap. But i realized that these blogs are basically Ms. Cat throwing marks at us. I'm pretty sure she's marking for completion, rather than content, which is good. I could write whatever the hell I want and it wouldn't matter. I don't even know why I bothered putting effort into those other posts.

Today, I could have wrote a heartfelt, caring post about how we shouldn't destroy our environment, about how cigarettes and drugs are terrible for people, about poetry, about how loathsome my mom is, I could even write about turkey day, or how holidays and funerals function as family reunions, but I'm not going to.

If you want to check out my favourite book (A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick) here's a link:

It's about drugs, but not how great they are or how fucked they, It's how they are; and they just happen to be Fucked.

Here's a quote from the Author's Note. It's about those who've done drugs.

"They wanted to have a good time, but they were like children playing in the street; they could see one after another of them being killed--run over, maimed, destroyed--but they continued to play anyhow. We really all were very happy for a while, sitting around not toiling but just bullshitting and playing, but it was for such a terrible brief time, and then the punishment was beyond belief"

  2. Your "I don't give a sh*t" attitude isn't enjoyable to read about. I know you are a great and creative writer, but when I see things like this, it makes me cringe. Do something creative, you knock it out of the park when you do.

  3. @Michael--good constructive criticism

@Richard--I actually don't mind your "I don't give a _________" attitude but I agree with Michael that, for your blog, it shoudl go somewhere...lead somewhere. And that doesn't mean that it needs to lead somewhere 'hippy, dippy, happy'.

Your blog is for publishing your writing. Explore your feelings of angst and disgust at the mundanity of the world...

don't dismiss these feelings as unwanted by you or your audience...

  4. Thanks. I'll keep it in mind when I'm writing next week's blog.

In the meantime I won't bore you two with how little I care about my audience because I doubt reading what I've got to say will affect their opinion of what I'm writing about, and the fact that only a handful actually update their blogs. How many actually read this? and who actually reads this? Maybe I'd write about something worthwhile if I had an audience apart from Michael (who admittedly couldn't find anyone else's blog to comment on) and you, who has to read this crap. Aside from you two and whoever else stumbles upon this, I'm only writing this for myself; and even if I don't have anything good I want to say this week I'm still going to get my marks.

  9. best blog that i have read yet! it was real and true. you expressed honest emotions and yet still managed to come out of it sounding philosophical... i personally like negative, dont give a shit attitudes. they are much more exciting than peppy, the world is your oyster, inspirational mantras that really help no one. good stuff! :)

  10. Thanks Shenelle, it's nice to get some positive feedback. And I guess I agree with you, a pessimistic tone gets taken seriously while a overly positive one can sound whimsical. I know that there are times for negativity and times for a positive tone, but when choosing which one to use it really comes down to how you want to get your message across, and what that message is.
